Testimonials

Unlike other stories which starts with once…. Mine starts with a "Miracle". My life actually started with a miracle. I come from a common middle class family. But I had big dreams and an expensive one too. I wanted to be a pilot ! I was passionate about flying. I couldn’t think of anything other than flying .Even though my parents tried to change my mind initially because of financial constraint, later they stood by me and helped in pursuing my dreams. I was ridiculed by my friends, My relatives turned their backs on me. Even the people whom my family helped once, tried to discourage me. They told me to just get married.  I am just a girl, my family and I are fools to even fancy about flying. For 3 years I tried my best for help with various banks and with different charity organizations. I left no plan unturned and no prospective benefactor in reach unapproached.

Then one day in 2008 my brother saw an advertisement in a local newspaper about Kadur Seetharamaiah Parvathamma Trust. They had mentioned that they provide financial aid for students to pursue higher education. There I met Belur Bhagavan, a tall white haired gentleman clad in white. After meeting me and my family, he decided to help me financially. To this day, I still do not know what he saw in me or how he concluded that I am worthy of his generosity. That’s the first time ever I met someone other than my family who actually believed in me. He then put me in contact with Saroja Naidu.  Again, I was amazed at the kindness and the support she gave me. It is  not just about the financial support they gave me but also the part where they believed in someone like me, a diffident and under-reassured woman that the society had prescribed for me because of perceived gender values. The opportunity that Bhagavan opened up for me infused fresh enthusiasm and confidence in me. Today I am a Commercial Pilot License holder. And I can proudly say it wouldn’t have been possible without the support of Bhagavan and Saroja.

Bhagavan and Saroja were not obligated to help me or others like me. They did not have to do anything and could have sent me empty handed and disheartened. But they chose to give me a helping hand. I can speak without fear of contradiction and say they not only helped me to achieve but inspired me and encouraged me in so many ways. Even now I am confused as to how I might express my sentiments and feelings of gratitude for the good fortune that has overwhelmed me. Even when I repay it back, it still will not measure up to what they have done.  I do not believe that I can ever repay it back to them measure for measure. Before I was leaving for US to do my pilot training, Bhagavan told me that I can show my gratitude by helping others. This is yet another lesson that I have learnt through him.

People say as long as you pursue your dreams with determination and hard work, you will achieve them, but I think otherwise. At least in my case, pursuing dreams was not enough. Not giving up was not enough. It is only possible with encouragement and support; not just from family but also from people around.

Bhagavan once mentioned how in his tough times, one of his teachers helped him. He remembers him by helping other students like me. I in turn must help others. Every person who gets help must help more. It is like a tree branching out. Kadur Seetharamaiah Parvathamma Charitable trustees taught me just that. Theirs’ is the most selfless act I have ever seen and such act is hard to come by these days. They prove to me that instead of complaining about the wrong things around us, how I should play my part in doing the right thing. They not only encouraged me to reach my goals but also to be a better person.

My life finally started for me when I began to fly. I realize miracles do not happen just from prayers or only in religious places. KSPC Trust showed me that good deeds are like prayers and humanity is like religion. They work for the well-being of the society by helping innumerable students and these deeds just multiply. KSPC Trust changed my perception towards life. I saw miracle through them. They are my role models to compete with and follow in their footsteps.

At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us. ”

Clayton M Christensen, a widely admired management theorist and thinker from Harvard has this challenge: How will you measure your life? I delved deeply to reflect and introspect on this.  Factually, in this world of the uneven playing field, I had modest beginnings. There were many family, social and economic obstacles early on to negotiate through before I could lay sight on graduating from a professional school.

The economic challenges seemed indomitable until help came from an unexpected quarter, the KSPC Trust. It was a random act of kindness. The Trust knew nothing about me except that I was needy. The Trust became my enabler to obtain the BE degree. This was a dream come true! My education has put me into a comforting path of becoming a productive and contributing member of my commune. Furthermore, the Trust enabled my “third eye” with an insight that I am more than just an educated professional graduate. I am the product of the generosity and uplifting inspirational buoyancy offered by innumerable men and women of my family, kinsfolks, friends, teachers and the commune at large.

KSPC Trust is a celebrated benefactor at a dire milestone of my life woven into the fabric of my life  Most of the other generous contributors and guardian angels in my life are faceless. For example, I pictured the drivers and conductors of the buses who ferried me to and fro to my college, the assistants who ensured that my practical classes made sense to me, the nurse who wiped my tears and said soothing words into my ears while caring for my knee abrasion and the aunty who lovingly held me tight and patted an uncomfortable me on the back till I burped and lapsed into a lull.  Truly then I owe so much to so many.  I  cannot be just self- made: this society has made me: directly, indirectly, tangibly, intangibly, voluntarily, brazenly and subtly. How and to whom do I pay back all the debt that I have accrued?  I may only pay- it- back to a small minority of benefactors who are recognizable such as my parents and teachers. I can pay back only seldom. I can always pay forward and must pay line for line, deed for deed,  and kindness for kindness.  Mostly, I need to “pay-it-forward”. Good deeds must be performed in confidence.

I need to contribute to the commune to which I belong and make positive impacts on as many individual persons as possible for the evolution of oppression - free, corruption-free, value-based society. On this count, the quantum of the positive impact that I can have on the persons around me shall be the measure of my life.  Interactions with the persons and the altruism of the KSPC trust has helped me rudder through the rough seas of life and into this realization. Thanks for the challenge Mr.Christensen and thanks to KSPC Trust for the inimitable and emulative moral lessons.

KSPC has been more than just a Trust. It is a Conglomeration of fantastic individuals set out to make this society a better place to live in.”

I am greatful for the Trust’s contribution for the interest free education loan throughout the span of my Engineering. The monetory help extended by the Trust has definitely relieved my financial burden and helped me concentrate on my strudies.

Every interaction with a trusties and office bearers of KSPC inculcates a spirit of honesty and social responsibility, teaching us to be individuals with not only better intellect but also better character as well. It aspired me to be a humble, compassionate and socially aware citizen.

I am one of the Financially hadicapped but blessed benificiary of the trust. I Learnt the value of  selflessness in this otherwise selfish and self-centered world. With the help of the trust, I am now able to take care of my mother who struggled so hard. This is your great gift to me.

I am hopeful and anxious to further the noble cause of the trust. We as citizens of this world should become more responsible and aware of the social and civic duties. Only then, we will know how to use our riches and resource in the right way. This is a key factor for our progress and to make this a better world to live in.

I would like to extend my sincere and heartfelt thanks for the timely Interest Free Loan Scholarship that was extended to me by the trust during the year 1999 - 2001 towards my post graduation fees.

As anyone attending the college knows, the cost of the fees, books and materials and living expences are daunting. The annual Scholarship I received from the Trust was helpful towards achieving my goals.

Without Scholarship patrons like you, there would be many students such as myself unable to pursue the career they've dreamed of. It is very reasoning when you have someone who has the best interest at heart to improve the situation.Again thank you for investing in my future. Your generosity truly makes a difference.

I Wish the best to the Trust and its patrons in further continuing to provide this valuable service towards promoting education to all needy individuals
